Numeric Domain '248.com' Trades for $175,000

Cambridge, MA- Numeric domaining has been a hot, emerging trend in the fast lane of the domain industry this month. Cambridge-based Sedo recently reported a rare NNN.com (3-Number) numeric domain sale- '248.com' (Michigan area code) sold for $175,000. DNJournal.com recently reported the following numeric domain trades... '249.com' just sold for $92,000. And the following extremely rare NN.com numeric domains, '33.com' & '93.com', sold for $75,000 in a package numeric domain transaction.

33.com/93.com: $75,000 (package deal)

Why are these exceptionally rare numeric domains valuable? How many NNN.com (3 number) combinations are there? How many very scarce 2 number combinations (0-9) are there?

248 is definitely worth it. Oakland County MI, which it services, is one of the wealthiest in Michigan and the U.S.

Detroit suburbs like Bloomfield Hills ($170k median family income, $100k+ per capita income), Birmingham, Troy, Rochester... are all part of this area code.

Why 249.com is worth 90k+ though... Who knows...
